Mr Erkki Yarvinen estimated prospects of export from Russia as following: “The existing legislation of Russia prevents us”. The company, which has 4 plants in Russia, is ready to export its products to Europe, but there is a number of obstacles. Erkki Yarvinen made this statement at the Round Table dedicated to Russian exports, in the framework of St. Petersburg international economic forum.

According to Mr Erkki Yarvinen, the main obstacle is heavy regulations and not always clear legislation. He also noted that laws of the Russian Federation strictly regulate what raw materials should be imported. But Russia does not have all the materials used by Tikkurila, and this limits the production. Other negative factors, according to a Finnish businessman, are a lack of clear customs rules and fuzzy logistics.

"I would like to harmonization of the legislation with Europe, so we could sell our products to other countries," said Yarvinen. The concern of the head of the largest Finnish paint company is clear: during the last two years, net sales of the company were falling, in 2015 it fell by 6%, and in 2016 by 2%.
