The first heavyweight company (PTK) jointly with the Russian Railways (RZD) tested train cars with load of 25 ton-force in direct connection and sent the cargo of KAO “Azot” company from Russia to Finland. 20 cars with fertilizers, sent from Siberia, arrived at the Mussalo station in Finland. The cargo crossed the Russian-Finnish border through the Buslovskaya-Vainikkala railway. On the territory of Finland the heavyweight cars went over the rail tracks from Kouvola to Kotka.

The tests were successful, the transport Agency of Finland contributed to this. The Finnish side is interested in the development of the heavyweight traffic between Russia and Finland. Goods transportation in hopper cars (with an axle load of 25 ton-force), manufactured by Tikhvin car building plant, will enable to increase the cargo carriage volume without increasing freight traffic. Test of the new section of road will increase the efficiency of Russian-Finnish rail transportation.
