Despite the market decline, Nokia does not lose ground

Last week, analysts of the Canalys technology market published a report on smartphone sales in Europe in the beginning of this year. Despite the overall decline, Nokia managed to reach the fifth place.

Reports of the experts show a significant decrease in sales in the Western European direction - almost 14%. However, the rest part of the EU and Russia continue to grow, including through HMD global concern, which purchased Nokia from Microsoft in 2016.

The Finnish brand accounted for 3.5% of the European market in the first quarter of 2018. To achieve this goal, the company managed to adapt to the latest market trends – increasing the size of display, the volume of internal and random access memory, high demand for devices with two SIM cards.

Given the stagnation in the smartphone market, analysts expect the disappearance of many small brands in the near future. Others need to adapt quickly to new requirements of buyers and to update quickly a model range for survival.
