Finland restructured the food export scheme

Representatives of the Food Industry Association of Finland noted the gradual recovery from the crisis of food export that arose after the introduction of sanctions by Russia. Manufacturers began to actively sell products to the countries of the European Union and Asia.

If previously more than 30% of food products were exported to Russia, now this share is only 7%. Instead of working with one giant market, Finnish manufacturers switched to selling products to a variety of geographic areas, creating an extensive network of global buyers. This approach is a safer form of work, which over the past year has provided the agro-food industry with sustainable growth.

As positive examples of local sales, experts note the increasing volume of butter exports to France, increased interest in eco-products such as blueberries and oats, the first regular supply of Finnish pork to China. In general, in 2017, the increase in export was almost 11%.
