Last week a delegation of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, headed by representatives of government agencies, paid a business visit to the capital of Finland. Within the framework of the Memorandum signed earlier, new contracts were made and future joint projects were identified.

Close cooperation between the two Northern territories began in 2014 with the participation of the Chamber of Commerce. Сommercial contracts were signed in addition to discussion of joint work in the social sphere, for example, the construction of medical and educational facilities at low temperatures. The representative of the business of Lapland — Lapin Nahka, one of the most successful companies in the sphere of processing and sale of deer hides, signed a contract with a Russian enterprise Payuta for the supply of nearly 6,000 products. The Finnish manufacturers are interested in the import of deer meat.

A number of agreements were also signed with the engineering giant Aker Arctic, which was directly involved in the creation of special vessels for the project for extraction, liquefaction and supply of natural gas to the Yamal Peninsula.
