Finland is concerned about the decline in the price for Estonian alcohol
Publishedо 4 June, 2019
Representatives of Finnish alcohol producers are concerned about the change in the excise tax on wine, beer and other alcoholic beverages in Estonia. This can lead to a drop in tax revenues in Finland itself.

In the near future Estonian parliament members plan to approve a bill aimed at combating the mass import of alcohol into the country from Latvia, resulting in decrease of own excise duty by 25%. According to experts, it will lead to a significant increase in imports of alcohol from Estonia to Finland, as a result of which local producers will be in the red. The Finnish trade Association asks the government to take steps to protect the domestic market.
