Fazer sells its restaurant business in Estonia

Fazer, as one of the most famous Finnish food producers, announced its intention to sell one of its Estonian divisions related to the catering sector. The deal is currently under consideration by the European Commission.

The buyer of Fazer Food Services will be Compass Group PLC, the world's largest British conglomerate in the field of restaurant business and building management. The amount of the transaction will be almost 500 million euros, while Fazer will allow to use its brand for another 3 years. The Finnish company justified its decision by the desire to focus on food of its own brand in the category of consumer goods.
