Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Finland Sauli Niinistö held talks on 27 of July. Following the meeting, the Russian President drew attention to the good dynamics of trade and economic relations of Russia and Finland. There is 51% growth in trade turnover between the countries for the period from January to May of this year.

“The volume of direct Russian investments in Finland in 2016 amounted to almost three billion dollars, and Finnish investments in Russia were almost four billions dollars, and if you count investments made through the subsidiaries of Finnish companies in other countries, it will be much higher," - said the President of Russia.

The statistics of Finnish customs indicates a double increase in deliveries from Russia to Finland for the first three months of the year. The Russia's share in Finnish exports increased by 0,4% in the first quarter of this year compared to last one.
"Our common goal is to maintain this trend. The intergovernmental Commission and the business Council work on it," - said Putin. The Russian President noticed the high interest of our countries to cooperate.
