The Finnish government has proposed amendments to the Aliens Act. The government considers, that the changes will affect the issuance of a residence permit to entrepreneurs - owners of startups, experts and valuable professionals. It will ensure growth of the economy and labour market.

It is planned that technically it will look like this: applicant must obtain an assessment of the business model, the prospects of the company itself from Tekes, the Finnish innovation funding agency. It means that valuation for the country of the applicant will not be a concern of the migration service. The migration service will assess only the presence of livelihoods and lack of criminal history.

It will take not more than several weeks for consideration of the application for a residence permit in Finland. The residence permit will be granted for two years to the candidates and members of their families. The extension of the residence permit can be issued online. According to the interior Ministry of Finland, amendments to the law will be made in the near future.
