One of the leading mobile operators in Russia MegaFon and Finnish Cinia, specializing in data networks, signed an agreement on the development of the Arctic route for high-speed fiber optic lines.

The consortium agreement, which will also involve Japanese companies, was signed on the sidelines of SPIEF'19. The new highly secure data channel will link the far East, Japan and Europe via Helsinki as a single network. The total length of the data network will be about 10 thousand km.
