Reconstruction of "Brusnichnoe" is equally important for Finland and Russia

On June 16, 2015 there was a meeting of representatives of the Ministries of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Finland – Sergei Aristov and Harri Pursiainen – regarding the cooperation between Russia and Finland in the field of transport. On the agenda there were also placed the issue of the reconstruction completion of International Automobile Border-crossing Point "Brusnichnoe" located on the border of both countries.

The early completion of the reconstruction is necessary for both Finland and Russia - this is the conclusion the representatives of Finland and Russia in the course of the meeting. Aristov and Pursiainen previously agreed the map that is added to the previously signed   contract for lease of the part of the Russian territory (the Saimaa Canal) by Finland.

As a result of reconstruction in the coastal strip of 500 meters there will be built a quay for the border crossing points for 15 pleasure crafts and 2 cargo ships. Completion of work on reconstruction is planned in 2017.
