Import of Finnish plant potato into Russia may be allowed

In January of 2017 the specialists of The Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Monitoring Service are going to inspect the agro-industrial enterprises in Finland. The aim of inspection is to determine quality of plant potato, import of which into Russia was prohibited since the 1st of July 2013.

Regarding the results of the inspection, planned on 16-18 of January, the experts will make the decision of possibility to deliver reserved lots of plant potatoes into Russia. According to fontanka.fi, Finland supplied at the Russian market about 10% of the whole potato crop before imposing of food embargo. At the present time the import of Finnish potato into Russia is carried out according to the special permissions.
