Finland stops to burn coal
Julkaistu 09 syyskuu 2017
Next year in Finland, the law will not allow to use coal to generate electricity. Also, the government will increase the tax on carbon dioxide emissions and develop a plan of total refusal to use coal by 2030.

Now Finland uses coal to generate 10% of the electricity, that is quite a lot for the Northern Europe (Finland is the largest consumer of coal in the region).

The Finnish government also plans to cut oil imports by half and make the country independent of hydrocarbon materials. In light of these plans, Finland increases the production of nuclear and solar power.
