Helsinki sets a record in transportation

The number of passengers, who arrived via sea and air harbours of the Finland capital, surpassed the figures of 2016 in the sum by more than 12%.

Sea port of Helsinki in 2017 marked an increase in passenger traffic by 12 million people. The main volume of traffic is carried out by ferry service between the capitals of Finland, Estonia and Sweden. The number of transit tourists, visiting Helsinki as part of tours on cruise ships, also increased. All this allowed the sea harbor to become the main passenger port not only in Finland but also in the world.

According to Finavia, the number of airline passengers, arriving in Helsinki, increased significantly almost by 10% last year. The main volume of traffic is EU citizens, arriving in the capital as tourists or on business issues.
