Foreign apples in Finland are now banned

On December 14, a decree came into force on the territory of the European Union prohibiting the import of an extensive list of fruits, berries, as well as fresh flowers and seeds without providing the customs authorities with a phytosanitary certificate.
This information will be important for tourists planning to visit Finland during the new year holidays, as the ban applies even to one apple or banana. Fruits, berries, as well as dairy products, the import of which was restricted even earlier, can be left in designated areas when crossing the border. Otherwise, customs officers may issue a fine to an individual.
