The crisis of Russian tourist shopping in Finland to continue
Publishedо 25 June, 2018
Last week, information on how much Russian tourists spent in Suomi last year was published. The total amount was slightly less than 350 million euros, which is almost 25% less than in 2016.

Despite such a significant decline, representatives of the Chamber of commerce of South Karelia positively look at the future of tourism in the region. After all, almost 80% of Russians, crossing the border of Finland, come here for shopping, and they are the main source of income for tourism business. Сonsumer goods are more than half of all purchases. Basically, it is food: cheese, dairy products, chocolate. The remaining amount is divided equally between clothing and services.

According to representatives of the Chamber of commerce, Russian tourists, as before, are guided by the long-known chain stores with a large range of products, as well as with employees who speak Russian.
