Dairy farms of Finland are on the edge of closure

According to the information portal Yle.fi, the level of milk production in Finland has decreased below the figures of hard post-war period. A sharp decline in purchase prices and loss of a such export partner as Russia because of grocery embargo have influenced the decrease of production.
At the present time the existing production output of dairy products is enough to meet the local consumer demand. However, in case of further decrease in indicators many dairy farms will have to be closed already in the current year. In experts’ opinion the downtrend of agricultural production in Finland may soon pose a threat to the national security.
