Finnish farmers are concerned about growth of dairy production in the Baltic States
Julkaistu 27 heinäkuu 2016
A quick growth in dairy production of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania may negatively affect Finland economy, namely its agricultural sector. While producers of the large Baltic States strenuously advance their products on the international market, Finnish farms continue to be in the crisis conditions close to further reduction in production.

In 2015 about 500 farms were closed in Finland because of instability of relations in the international economy and fall in prices for agricultural raw materials. Low price level for producers continues to contain the growth of dairy production at the Finnish entities, that together with sharp increase in production volume in other countries put the farmery in a disadvantaged position.
