Nokia creates a network for electricity meters

Finnish telecommunications giant Nokia will develop a 450 MHz wireless network for the Polish electricity supplier PGE Systemy. 4G technologies should eventually combine all Polish energy sources into a single system to increase its efficiency.
Nokia's LTE network will take information from so-called “smart” meters installed in private households in a test mode, as well as interact with the SCADA dispatcher application, which is used to control wind power installations. Further analysis of the collected data will improve the entire energy system of the country.
