The Finnish Minister of Finance, Alexander Stubb in his interview in the USA to the American mass sources stated that special economic and political relations between Russia and Finland have functional and practical nature. Furthermore, there is no doubt that Finland is a part of the West.

The American government paid attention many times to “the Russian efforts to disturb the EU unity”, therefore the question of Finland membership with the European Union is raised occasionally. According to Stubb, the Finns have never given cause to doubt their adherence to the European values.
