The expert community in Finland consider the country’s dependence on euro as the deterrent to the economic development and the cause of export decline. According to experts, the return to the national currency - Finnish mark - would allow to decrease the prime cost of goods manufactured in Finland and, as a consequence, to increase export which declined by 15% from the beginning of the current year.

Despite the experts’ opinions, the Parliament of Finland decided to deny the referendum over the possible return to the Finnish mark.
