“Vaalimaa” (“Torfyanovka”) checkpoint will have a new truck stop

According to fontanka.fi, waiting area for truck transport at the “Vaalimaa” checkpoint at the border between Russia and Finland will be opened in January 2017. The new parking space provides 410 parking lots for lorries going from Finland, and 51 lots for ones entering the country. The parking zone which is used now will be partially devoted to motor-cars leaving Finland.

This new parking space is a part of the project on the construction of high-speed road section Hamina-Vaalimaa, which should be completed by the spring of 2017. The project aim is to prepare automobiles lines for the projected growth in freight and passenger traffic flows.
