Port of Helsinki increases cargo turnover

According to the results of 2017 cargo turnover of Port of Helsinki increased by 22% in comparison with January of the previous year. During the reporting period the volume of export cargo transshipment grew by 10,5% to 495,5 thousand tons. Import cargo transshipment increased by 37,7% to 550 thousand tons.
According to experts, growth in cargo turnover of Port of Helsinki is a result of increase in transshipment volumes in the port area Vuosaari, and of launch of new line by Finnlines company from the UK.
