The decline in trade relations between Russia and Finland has almost stopped
Publishedо 14 February, 2017

The reduction in volumes of Russian goods imported in Finland in 2016 was only 1%, and export indices for the period between January and November decreased by 6%. In spite of the fact that the volumes of mutual supplies stopped to decrease in financial terms, producers of Finland suffer from loss of Russian market.

According to Valery Shlyamin, the Russia trade representative in Finland, the market substitution is a “painful” process and not always effective. Mutual sanctions of the EU and RF not only seriously undermined the economy of Finland, but also have a “poisonous” effect on the business as a whole.
